Make a photo collage

Arrange several photos on one canvas, choose which image leads, and adjust the spacing and background before downloading a PNG or JPG.

The collage is created in your browser. Compare the preview with the place where you plan to share it, especially if the canvas needs a particular shape.

How do I make a photo collage?

  1. Choose or drop 2–16 still JPG, PNG or WebP images.
  2. Choose a grid or large-image layout, then set the canvas ratio and output width.
  3. Drag thumbnails or use Move up and Move down to arrange them. Set the spacing, corner radius and background color.
  4. Check the preview, then select Download collage to save a PNG or JPG.

Choose a layout and photo fit

Grid layouts support up to 16 photos. The large-image layouts support up to 6, with the first photo in the larger space. If a row is not full, the empty cells show the background color.

Crop to fill centers and crops each photo so it fills its cell. Show full photo keeps the whole image and fills the extra space with the background color. To choose the crop position first, use Image cropper.

To join screenshots into one long image, use Image merger. To divide one image into separate tiles, use the Image splitter。

Frequently asked questions

What are the file limits?

Each image can be up to 10 MiB and 12 megapixels, with a maximum side of 12,000 px. The batch limit is 40 MiB and 24 megapixels. GIF, animated images, SVG and HEIC are not supported. Convert HEIC first with HEIC to JPG.

Does PNG keep transparent backgrounds?

No. Transparent areas, padding and empty cells are filled with the selected background color in both PNG and JPG output. PNG is useful for crisp edges; JPG is often a good fit for photos.

Will a larger output make my photos clearer?

It will not add detail to the originals. Output widths are 640, 1080, 1600 or 2048 px, and the height follows the canvas ratio. An image with too little resolution may look blurry when enlarged.

Can I reorder photos on a phone?

Yes. Use the Move up and Move down buttons under each thumbnail; dragging is not required.

Are my photos uploaded or saved?

No. Reading, previewing and exporting happen in your browser. Photos are not kept after you refresh or leave the page, so download the result before closing it.

Make a photo collage without shrinking the important part

Choose photos that belong together

A collage works best when the images contribute to one idea: a few moments from a trip, details from a project, or several views of the same subject. Four travel photos might include one wide view of the location, a photo of the people there, and two details. If two pictures repeat the same view, leaving one out can make the result easier to read.

This tool arranges separate photos in a fixed canvas layout. If you want screenshots joined into one long image in reading order, use the image merger instead. For a document with one image per page, use an image-to-PDF workflow.

Decide which photo should lead

Automatic grid and the two-, three-, or four-column layouts give each photo a similar role. The large-image layouts put the first photo in the larger area, so place the strongest overview image first. Those layouts support up to 6 photos; the grid layouts can hold up to 16.

Add the photos, then drag their thumbnails or use Move up and Move down. On a phone, the buttons are easier to use than dragging. Check the order before export, because the first image determines the large area in either large-image layout.

Compare cropping with showing the whole photo

Crop to fill centers each photo and removes the parts outside its cell. This keeps the grid filled, but it can cut off a face, sign, or object near an edge. Show full photo keeps each image intact and fills the leftover area with the background color. Use the preview to check the parts that matter.

If a specific crop needs to stay in view, make that crop before building the collage with the image cropper. The collage tool does not detect a subject or let you move the crop window inside each cell.

Set a canvas for where you will share it

Choose a canvas ratio before export: square, 4:5, 3:4, 9:16, or 16:9. Then choose an output width of 640, 1,080, 1,600, or 2,048 pixels. The height follows the ratio. A square canvas at 1,080 pixels wide is 1,080 × 1,080 pixels; a 9:16 canvas at that width is 1,080 × 1,920 pixels.

These are output dimensions, not a promise about file size or detail. A larger canvas cannot add detail to a small source photo. The maximum output area is 8 megapixels, so some wide or tall combinations may be limited by the canvas size.

Adjust spacing, background, and file format

Spacing separates the cells, and outer padding adds a border around the group. Corner radius rounds the photo cells. These controls change the layout; they do not alter the source files. Transparent pixels, padding, and empty cells are all filled with the selected background color.

Choose PNG when you want crisp edges or JPG when the output is a photo collage and a smaller file is useful. The output always has a background, including PNG. JPG is encoded at a fixed quality setting, so the actual file size depends on the images and dimensions. Preview the result and check the downloaded file before sending or posting it.

Check the limits before adding a batch

The tool accepts 2–16 still JPG, PNG, or WebP images. Each file can be up to 10 MiB and 12 megapixels, with no side longer than 12,000 pixels. The combined batch limit is 40 MiB and 24 megapixels. GIF, animated images, SVG, and HEIC are not supported.

The images are read, previewed, and exported in your browser. They are not uploaded for processing and are not kept after you leave or refresh the page. Download the result before closing the page.

Questions about photo collages

Will PNG keep transparent photo backgrounds?

No. Transparent areas, outer padding, and unused cells are filled with the background color in both PNG and JPG. PNG does not make this collage transparent.

Will a larger output width make a photo clearer?

No. It changes the canvas dimensions but cannot restore detail that is absent from a source photo. If a photo looks soft in the preview, choose a smaller canvas or use a higher-resolution source.

Can I change the order on a phone?

Yes. Use the Move up and Move down buttons below each thumbnail. You do not need to drag the photos.
